Founded in 1931, the Chester County Art Association (CCAA) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to educating, inspiring, and connecting people to and through the arts. Located in West Chester, Pennsylvania, CCAA is a vibrant hub for artistic expression and learning, serving the Chester County community with a rich variety of programs and opportunities for all ages and skill levels. At CCAA, we believe that art is for everyone. Our offerings include fine arts and fine crafts classes and workshops designed to teach both fundamental concepts and advanced techniques. Participants can explore diverse media such as oil painting, acrylics, watercolor, pastel, figure drawing, sculpture, ceramics, photography, digital art, printmaking, mixed media, fiber arts, and jewelry-making. From beginners to seasoned artists, our programs provide a welcoming environment for creative growth. Our facility boasts versatile studios, a darkroom, a digital lab, a library, and exhibition galleries, enabling us to host engaging classes, inspiring exhibitions, and community events. CCAA’s galleries regularly feature solo and group shows that celebrate local, regional, and national talent, providing artists with opportunities to share their work and connect with audiences. Community engagement is at the heart of our mission. CCAA organizes special events such as Art in the Woods, Chriskindlmarkt, Craftapalooza, and the Under $300 Show, fostering connections between artists and the public. We also partner with local organizations like the West Chester Food Cupboard and Toys for Tots to support charitable initiatives. Our history is deeply rooted in the Chester County art scene, with founding members including luminaries such as N.C. Wyeth, Christian Brinton, and William Palmer Lear. The association has showcased works by prominent artists like Andrew Wyeth and Horace Pippin, and our commitment to nurturing talent continues today. Whether you’re interested in taking a class, attending an exhibition, or participating in one of our many events, CCAA invites you to experience the transformative power of art. Visit us to discover a welcoming community that values creativity, innovation, and connection.
